, as Over the years Science at CCFS has encompassed many different activities to involve our students in scientific disciplines, and we fully expect to continue in this vein. We are happy to see that a large number of those students who participated in our extra curricular activities obviously enjoyed them and have since become passionately involved in STEM related careers at the highest levels.
Activities such as:
SCIENCE CLUBS which particiipated in several Science Fairs, Tours loccal as well as overseas, and Experimentation,
ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBS The E-Club as well as the ECO-EYE (Eager Young Environmentalists) hiked, beautified the school compound, documented the flora of CCFS pictorially, cleaned beaches, hosted national group seminars under CYEN, held cook-outs, travelled to St Lucia, and launched clean up campaigns.
DEBATING TEAMS participated in the National Council of Science & Technology sponsored competitions
UWI SCIENCE IMMERSION TOURS provided enjoyable opportunities for 3rd Formers to get a glimpse of higher education in science.
OPPORTUNITIES to participate in the SPISE progrram (which hosts only a limited number of the Best of the Caribbean's young scientists), as well as the Caribbean Youth Scientific Forum ant NIHERST in T'dad.
A few of these activities have been documented in the photo gallery, and additional photos of other activities would be welcomed from persons who wish to share them.
A vigorous effort was even made to try to "Save a Tree" prior to the rebuilding of the new hall. See Petition below along with some of the other efforts. which were made over the years.
